ABOUT CAROL ANNE DACOSTA

Owner & Lead Investigator of On-Set Investigations

Having served over 2 decades working in film and television, Carol Anne DaCosta brings a thorough understanding of the unique challenges faced by Producers when harassment claims are made. Carol Anne is highly aware of the importance of navigating positively through complex issues in a timely manner and she has honed that ability over the years.

She has leveraged her strong intuition and empathy to assist those in conflict to address issues before they escalate. In addition to her Investigative Service, Carol Anne also offers Alternative Conflict Resolution services to assist Producers in such situations. From unions, guilds, single-purpose companies and time frames specific to the industry, your investigation is handled with discretion and an eye to completion before the last banker's box is sent to storage.

Carol Anne has an acute sense of the current temperature in this sector and is dedicated to assisting those who find themselves in any one of the many difficult situations that can arise in the workplace. She has used her time in the industry to carefully build quality relationships not only with film, television and new media producers, but also with a variety of unions and guilds including ACTRA, DGC, WGC, NABET, and IATSE.

Carol Anne was most recently employed with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) as National Industrial Relations and Agreement Administrator and she held that position for over 10 years. During her tenure, she participated in collective bargaining meetings with unions and guilds and her day-to-day life existed “in the trenches” with her producer members in administering and implementing all aspects of 5 collective bargaining agreements, liaising between members of the CMPA and the corresponding union or guild, managing grievances and related proceedings as well as addressing concerns on behalf of unions and guilds.

Previous to her position at the CMPA, Carol Anne worked in varying roles in film and television, both on set and in the production office, giving her a well-rounded education of the inner workings of the industry.
